SIMSBURY BABE RUTH 2023 SPRING EVALUATIONS
Dear Simsbury Baseball Families,
We are getting closer to another fantastic Spring Season of Baseball.
Spring 2023 registration is moving towards the final days and time is here to evaluate players to make sure the teams are as even as possible. We try to make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable experience that lasts a lifetime.
Our evaluation date is Monday March 27th from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.
We normally have evaluations in the Simsbury High School blue gymnasium however with the amount of forecasted rain on Saturday could mean the high school teams would take priority for use of Simsbury High School blue gymnasium.
We will send more information regarding location of the Monday evaluations when we make a determination on the field conditions and what happens with the weather this weekend.
The breakdown for the timeslots will be
- 6th & 7th grade players 6:00 to 7:15
- 8th & 9th grade players 7:15 to 8:30
We will run through fundamentals:
- Hitting in 2 stations soft toss and coach or machine pitch
- Fielding ground balls
- Fielding fly balls
- Pitching (as needed)
- Catching (as needed)
- (note if your player is a catcher please bring equipment if you have)
- (note if your player is a pitcher please make sure to let us know at check in)
Please make sure to have your players bring equipment needed:
- Glove
- Bat
- Batting Helmet
- Please make sure they are wearing an Athletic Cup
